The HIWPP team had its second face-to-face meeting for FY2014 September 18-19, 2014 at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction in College Park, Maryland. This provided an excellent opportunity for many project participants to interact and coordinate with other researchers from NOAA as well as other HIWPP team members. Early results from all project tasks were presented.

This also provided an important opportunity for discussion about NOAA’s new R2O initiative with the Next Generation Global Prediction System (NGGPS) project, how HIWPP will align with NGGPS, and how NGGPS can leverage HIWPP outputs to move non-hydrostatic global weather models along the ladder of Technical Readiness.
